International SPICMACAY Convention
The 11th International SPICMACAY Convention was held at IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal, from 25 to 31 May, 2026.
Our school proudly participated in this prestigious cultural celebration, with a team of 12 members, including 10 students and 2 teachers. The convention provided an enriching platform for students to experience India’s diverse cultural heritage through classical music, dance, art and traditions. The event was a memorable journey of learning, inspiration and cultural exploration, leaving participants with valuable experiences and unforgettable memories.
PRISM WORKSHOP
Students of The Smart School participated in the Prism 11th workshop, “Making Sense of Wave Phenomena: from the Mechanical to the Abstract,” organised by the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bengaluru. The workshop was conducted by the ICTS Outreach Team, who guided the students through a series of interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities on wave phenomena. The workshop was highly informative and inspiring, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation for scientific learning and a lasting enthusiasm for exploring science beyond the classroom.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
The school celebrated Environment Day with great enthusiasm over two days,reflecting this year’s theme, “ Inspired by Nature, For Climate. For our Future.” On Day 1, the Programme began with a welcome speech, followed by a presentation on the significance of Environment Day. This was followed by an energetic dance performance by Grade 8,9 and 10 students on “Tik Tik kasam khayenge” promoting environmental awareness. Grade 8 students then presented the group song “Prakruthiyante Kaviya Manasu” written by Dr G.S.Shivarudrappa which conveyed love and respect for the environment. On Day 2, Grade 7 students recited poems on nature and environmental conservation, inspiring everyone to care for the Earth. The celebration concluded with an activity by grade 6 where students formed human formations to display and unscramble environmental slogans, spreading powerful messages about protecting our planet.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
The School celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging.” The programme began with an invocation prayer, a welcome address, and a brief presentation highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day. Students and staff actively participated in Mass Surya Namaskar, followed by a series of standing, sitting, prone and supine yoga asanas. The session concluded with Shavasana, peaceful meditation, and the chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, creating a calm and positive atmosphere. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks. The celebration successfully created awareness about the importance of yoga and encouraged everyone to adopt it as a part of their daily routine for a healthier and happier life.
WORLD MUSIC DAY
Music Day celebration was conducted under the theme “Music for Peace and Harmony,” highlighting the power of music to connect hearts and inspire unity. The program commenced with the presentation of a Nottu Swara, showcasing the unique compositions of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar that beautifully combine Carnatic music with simple Western tunes. On Day 2, celebration featured the presentation of the beautiful Kirti “Nandagopala” in Raga Abheri and Adi Tala, which was learned during the SPIC MACAY workshop. Day 3, celebration was marked by soulful and inspiring performances by the students. The Grade 9 students presented the popular Bhavageethe “Suma Sundara Tarulathegala”, accompanied by melodious violin and rhythmic tabla, creating a captivating musical experience for the audience. The students’ performance reflected their dedication, musical talent, and appreciation for India’s rich musical heritage, making the third day of the celebration both meaningful and memorable.
STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTION
The Student Council Election for the academic year 2026–27 was conducted in virtual mode on 23rd June, 2026. Students filed nominations for various leadership positions, which were carefully screened based on academics, discipline, sports, and overall conduct. Students from Classes IV to X actively participated and cast their valuable votes to elect their student leaders. A total of 103 students contested for the posts of School Captain, Vice Captain, General Secretary, Sports Secretary and Cultural Secretary. The election was conducted smoothly, and the results were announced on 24 June, 2026.
