NAtional doctor's day

To commemorate Doctor’s Day on 1st July, our school organized a special programme to honour the dedicated service of doctors. Students of Grades VII and VIII welcomed the gathering, delivered an informativespeech on the significance of the day, and conducted an engaging quiz.

The students of Grade VI shared simple homemade Ayurvedic remedies. As a token of appreciation, greeting cards were presented to students whose parents are doctors and to teachers whose children are doctors.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. The celebration inspired students to appreciate the noble role of doctors and the importance of good health.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY

The Smart School, Machohalli, proudly conducted its Investiture Ceremony to formally induct the newly elected Student Council on July 29th 2026. The School Captain, Student Council members, House Leaders, House Vice Captains, and Special Leaders were entrusted with their respective responsibilities.

The Managing Trustee, Administrator, Principal and teachers conferred badges and sashes upon the student leaders who took a solemn oath to uphold the values of discipline, leadership, responsibility and service. The Principal encouraged the young leaders to lead with integrity, teamwork, and dedication.

The ceremony concluded on an inspiring note, motivating the student leaders to serve as role models and contribute to the continued growth and excellence of the school.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

SVK – The Smart School observed Kargil Vijay Diwas on 27th July 2026 with great patriotism and gratitude, paying tribute to the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who fought courageously during the 1999 Kargil War. The programme beganwith a synopsis of the Kargil War by the students of Class IX A, followed by a soulful patriotic choir performance that filled the atmosphere with pride and respect.

The celebrations continued with a moving theatrical skit portraying the courage and sacrifices of the soldiers and their families, followed by a disciplined tribute by the school’s NCC cadets, who performed a ceremonial march and salute to honour the martyrs. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a deep sense of patriotism, respect and gratitude for the nation’s heroes.

GURU PURNIMA

Guru Purnima was celebrated with reverence and gratitude during the school assembly. The programme began with a welcome speech by a Grade VII student, followed by an insightful speech on the significance of Guru Purnima, highlighting the importance of honouring teachers and mentors who guide us with knowledge, wisdom and values.

Adding a melodious touch to the celebration, students of Grades V and VII presented a soulful duet, “Guru Namamrutha,” expressing respect and gratitude towards all Gurus. The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving everyone inspired to cherish and appreciate the invaluable role of teachers in shaping young minds.

WORLD TIGER DAY

International Tiger Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, creativity, and a strong commitment to wildlife conservation. The programme aimed to create awareness about the declining tiger population, the importance of protecting their natural habitats, and the vital role tigers play in maintaining ecological balance.

Students of Grade VI shared fascinating and lesser-known facts about tigers, enriching the audience with valuable knowledge. The students of Grade IX presented a thought-provoking skit highlighting the need to conserve tigers and protect wildlife. The celebration inspired students to become responsible citizens and reinforced the importance of preserving our rich biodiversity for future generations.

DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAM

The Bharat Scouts and Guides of The Smart School, Machohalli, organised a Drug Awareness Jatha on 29 July 2026 to promote a healthy and drug-free society.The rally was inaugurated by Managing TrusteeMrs. Manjulamba,Administrator Mr. Subramanya, and Principal Mrs. Spoorthi Arvind, who encouraged students to become responsible ambassadors of a drug-free community.Guided by the Scout Master and Guide Captain, the Scouts and Guides carried placards and raised impactful anti-drug slogans through the nearby localities, creating awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Their enthusiastic participation and meaningful messages received appreciation from the public. The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from the students to spread awareness and inspire others to lead healthy, drug-free lives.

International SPICMACAY Convention

The 11th International SPICMACAY Convention was held at IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal, from 25 to 31 May, 2026.
Our school proudly participated in this prestigious cultural celebration, with a team of 12 members, including 10 students and 2 teachers. The convention provided an enriching platform for students to experience India’s diverse cultural heritage through classical music, dance, art and traditions. The event was a memorable journey of learning, inspiration and cultural exploration, leaving participants with valuable experiences and unforgettable memories.

PRISM WORKSHOP

Students of The Smart School participated in the Prism 11th workshop, “Making Sense of Wave Phenomena: from the Mechanical to the Abstract,” organised by the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS), Bengaluru. The workshop was conducted by the ICTS Outreach Team, who guided the students through a series of interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities on wave phenomena. The workshop was highly informative and inspiring, leaving the students with a deeper appreciation for scientific learning and a lasting enthusiasm for exploring science beyond the classroom.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The school celebrated Environment Day with great enthusiasm over two days,reflecting this year’s theme, “ Inspired by Nature, For Climate. For our Future.” On Day 1, the Programme began with a welcome speech, followed by a presentation on the significance of Environment Day. This was followed by an energetic dance performance by Grade 8,9 and 10 students on “Tik Tik kasam khayenge” promoting environmental awareness. Grade 8 students then presented the group song “Prakruthiyante Kaviya Manasu” written by Dr G.S.Shivarudrappa which conveyed love and respect for the environment. On Day 2, Grade 7 students recited poems on nature and environmental conservation, inspiring everyone to care for the Earth. The celebration concluded with an activity by grade 6 where students formed human formations to display and unscramble environmental slogans, spreading powerful messages about protecting our planet.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

The School celebrated the 12th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging.” The programme began with an invocation prayer, a welcome address, and a brief presentation highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day. Students and staff actively participated in Mass Surya Namaskar, followed by a series of standing, sitting, prone and supine yoga asanas. The session concluded with Shavasana, peaceful meditation, and the chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra, creating a calm and positive atmosphere. The programme ended with a Vote of Thanks. The celebration successfully created awareness about the importance of yoga and encouraged everyone to adopt it as a part of their daily routine for a healthier and happier life.

WORLD MUSIC DAY

Music Day celebration was conducted under the theme “Music for Peace and Harmony,” highlighting the power of music to connect hearts and inspire unity. The program commenced with the presentation of a Nottu Swara, showcasing the unique compositions of Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar that beautifully combine Carnatic music with simple Western tunes. On Day 2, celebration featured the presentation of the beautiful Kirti “Nandagopala” in Raga Abheri and Adi Tala, which was learned during the SPIC MACAY workshop. Day 3, celebration was marked by soulful and inspiring performances by the students. The Grade 9 students presented the popular Bhavageethe “Suma Sundara Tarulathegala”, accompanied by melodious violin and rhythmic tabla, creating a captivating musical experience for the audience. The students’ performance reflected their dedication, musical talent, and appreciation for India’s rich musical heritage, making the third day of the celebration both meaningful and memorable.

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTION

The Student Council Election for the academic year 2026–27 was conducted in virtual mode on 23rd June, 2026. Students filed nominations for various leadership positions, which were carefully screened based on academics, discipline, sports, and overall conduct. Students from Classes IV to X actively participated and cast their valuable votes to elect their student leaders. A total of 103 students contested for the posts of School Captain, Vice Captain, General Secretary, Sports Secretary and Cultural Secretary. The election was conducted smoothly, and the results were announced on 24 June, 2026.
