June 21: Yoga Day
International Yoga Day celebrated at the Smart School, Bangalore on June 21, 2019.
The pleasant early morning with children gearing up in their track suits and yoga mats was a sight to behold. The usually bright and scorching sun seemed to mellow down making it perfect for the children to perform yoga on the sprawling lawn, in the school premises. The soothing chanting of ‘Omkara’ accompanied by a pleasant background music, formed a perfect blend to lift our spirits.
Children performed several asanas. They started with Tadasana followed by Vriksasana, Uttanasana,Utthita Trikonasana, Virabhadrasana, Dandasana, setubandha sarvangasana, concluding with Shavasana.Around 300 students participated in the event.
We appreciate this move by our honorable Prime minister who has transformed ‘yoga’ into a mass movement for the benefit of one and all.
