Saraswathi Puja & Graduation Day – February 8, 2019
The Smart School has a tradition of giving a befitting and memorable sendoff for the outgoing Gr 10 and 12 students every year. Being the last function of the year, this was held on Feb 8, 2019. A Saraswathi puja was conducted for all the classes from Nursery to Gr 12 students in the forenoon and the Graduation day was held for the Gr 10 and 12 in the evening. Students, adorned in traditional colourful attires, performed the Saraswathi Puja with solemnity and devotion.
In the evening, the students of Gr 10 and 12, elegantly and gracefully dressed in formals, took the oath solemnized by taking the lit lamps from teachers, depicting the importance of spreading knowledge. Some outgoing students expressed their thoughts about the school where they spent their childhood and the memories they would carry very emotionally. The chief guest of the event, Mrs. Usha Navaratna, addressed the gathering, and gave some tips to equip themselves to face the bigger world after school. Amongst the parents, who were guests for the day, was the illustrious orator and writer Prof. H. S. LakshmiNarayana Bhatta, grandparent of a student. He rendered a verse from DVG’s ‘Mankutimmana Kagga’, analyzing the importance of knowledge, which should be complimented with wisdom, hard work and humility. The Chairman in his address blessed the students to face the coming exams with confidence and courage. The Principal rendered the oath for the students to repeat ,after the ‘Shikshavali’, to be successful in all their future endeavors.

‘Mathrubasha Divas’ – February 21, 2019
As per the CBSE guidelines, the ‘Mathrubasha Divas’ was held on February 21, 2019. Students presented songs in various Indian languages showing the beauty of each region and its unique language in India. The diverse culture, languages and traditions is the special feature of Indian Subcontinent. This feature was depicted in a speech by a student, who spoke about the importance of mother tongue and the recent trend of loosing many languages because of the influence of global languages like English. The beauty of each Indian language was demonstrated through this assembly activity.
Educational Trip for Grades 5 & 6 – February 22, 2019
A Study tour of Bangalore was conducted for the students of Grades 5 and 6 on February 22, 2019. The places visited were Vishveswaraya Industrial and Technological Museum(VITM), Cubbon Park, Bangalore Palace and The HAL Factory. Breakfast was served in the lush green gardens of Cubbon Park, and later the students headed to Bangalore Palace to have a look at the royal grandeur of the city’s erstwhile history. Later the visit to the VITM was an enriching experience, followed by the HAL factory visit, which gave the students an insight into the latest technological developments in the Aeronautical field. The students returned back with fond memories and also became aware of the emergence of Bangalore as the technological and scientific hub of India, juxtaposed with rich culture and history.
National Science Day – February 28, 2019
The anniversary of discovery of Raman Effect, celebrated as ‘National Science Day’, was observed in the smart school. The students of grade 8 visited the Vishvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM) to attend a program comprising talks and presentations about C.V. Raman by eminent scientists, apart from the recent developments in Science and Technology in India. An open quiz was also conducted for the students in VITM, in which many of them won prizes.
