August, 15th – 73rd Independence Day Celebrations
August 15th is that sacred day of remembering, celebrating and echoing the struggles of thousands of our country men who fought for India’s freedom. The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated in our School with great joy, enthusiasm and sincere patriotic fervor. Teachers, Students and all the supporting staff took part in the celebrations actively.
The formal Flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by National salute, National Anthem and the march past. Varied colorful cultural programs preceded by the welcome address. Showcasing the talents of students was witnessed by the guests of honor, the parents, students, the Management, the Principal and the staff.
Highlights of the programs:
Patriotic song, Multi-lingual speech, Natya-Yoga, Patriotic dance, mime show, Fan display, Props and Dance lezims, Wagah Border ceremony were some of the events and programs exhibited by students during the celebrations.
This was followed by felicitations to meritorious students who fared extremely well in the board examinations. Address by the chief guests, Chairman and Principal marked the wrap up of this year’s Independence Day celebrations.

August 19 to 26, 2019: Sanskrit Week –‘Samskrita Saptaha’
As an assembly activity, Sanskrit week was celebrated from Aug 19 to 26, 2019, to showcase different aspects of the Sanskrit language and its importance of this language in the present world. On the first day, Aug 19, Mr. Nagaraj Shastri, Faculty-Sanskrit, introduced the students to this ancient language, its history, its growth, its usage in Indian scriptures, its grammar, structure etc. This was followed by the rendition of ‘Medha Suktham’, by the Gr 9 Students.
On Aug 20, 2019, the students of Gr 8, recited the Dhyanashloka prarthana , followed by a Sanskrit skit by Two students of Gr 10. On Aug 21, The first 10 Shlokas of Chap 12, of Bhagavathgita, was recited by the students of Gr 10. Besides this, a Sanskrit song was sung by the Choir group. On Thursday, Aug 22, the students of Gr 9 rendered the last 10 shlokas of Chap 12, of Bhagavathgita. Followed by a dance recital a Sanskrit song, was presented by the students of Gr 8. Finally, on Aug 26, the shlokas of Chap 2 of the Bagavadgita was rendered by the students of Gr 6.

August 23: Krishna Janmashtami:
The birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with pomp and grandeur on Aug 23, 2019, in the school premises. Tiny tots of Nursery decked in Krishna and Radha costumes, stole the show. The children of primary school also adorned colourful attires spreading the mood of celebration of festivity in the school.
The idols of Lord Krishna, pictures, portraits, photos, were arranged in a grand manner with flowers, and lights at the main entrance of the school, depicting the Lord’s various hues and colours, at different stages of his avatar. Children offered prayers to the Lord, in their own way, by singing bhajans, reciting shlokas..etc.
